Nice to meet you! This is the opening post of my new blog (because one had previously existed but was not well-maintained), which is why I titled it Init the term programmers use to mark the start of a new process.

Why do I write?

I’ve wanted my own place to write for quite a while. Social media is too fast and too noisy for keeping longer thoughts. A blog gives me room to think more deeply, put things down neatly, and keep them as notes I can revisit later.

The posts here are mostly personal notes: what I’m currently learning, experiences I’ve had, and things I find interesting enough to share. I’m not targeting any specific reader, if one or two people find something useful, that’s more than enough.

What will I write about?

My interests are fairly broad, so the topics here will likely be a mix.

I don’t want to limit myself to a single topic. This blog is a reflection of whatever I’m involved in at a given time.

A little about me

Let me introduce myself — I’m Riyan Firmansyah. I live in Indonesia and work in technology, specifically cybersecurity. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the outdoors and sometimes spending time on things that have nothing to do with computers at all.

If you’d like to get to know me better, the About page has a short summary about me.

Closing

Posts dated before this one are my old archives, migrated from a previous platform. Going forward, I hope to write more regularly.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy reading!
